Mersey Care NHS Trust

One in four people will experience a mental health issue at some time in their lives. Mersey Care has a significant part to play as one of only three specialist trusts of its kind in the country.

It provides specialist mental health and learning disability services for the people of Liverpool, Sefton and Kirkby. It has a wider role too, offering medium secure services for Merseyside and Cheshire, and high secure services covering England and Wales.

Services provided by the trust are managed and delivered through clinical directorates led by a clinical director and service manager.  These have been organised on the basis of service user groups:

• adult mental health
• older people
• learning disabilities
• drugs and alcohol services
• Merseyside forensic service (Scott Clinic)
• High secure services (Ashworth Hospital)
