Sun Safe
There are plenty of ways you can protect yourself
during the summer months.
If you are going on holiday make sure you pack plenty of sun cream that is appropriate for your skin type, your local pharmacy can advise you on this. Be careful to apply cream to all parts of your body, not just the exposed parts. Sun cream must be applied before you go out and be topped up regularly throughout the day.
Pack plenty of lose fitting cotton clothes that will give added protection to your skin. Take a hat and sunglasses to protect your head and eyes. Wear plenty loose fitting cotton clothes that will give added protection to your skin.
Where possible, try to avoid going out in the exposed sun between the hours of 11am and 3pm when the sun is at its hottest, and if you do try and wear a shirt. Also remember to drink plenty of fluids to avoid becoming dehydrated. If you do get burnt, take cover in the shade, drink plenty of fluids and seek advice from a local pharmacist.
