Men should not regularly drink more than 3-4 units a day and women should not regularly drink more than 2-3 units a day. ‘Regularly’ means drinking every day or most days of the week. For more information and examples about units please click here and logging on to NHS Choices.

Try to have a few alcohol free days every week. You should also take a break for 48 hours after a heavy session to let your body recover.
An alcohol free childhood is the healthiest and best option.

Women who are pregnant or planning to become pregnant should not drink alcohol.
